Introduction of FMDC-Background

Mold technology is always the characteristic of our school's continuous development.

In 2004, we established the only Mold & Die technology R&D center in Taiwan’s University of Science and Technology . As of today, development funds have reached NT $590 million, of which 40% has come from industry. For results, technology transfer fund exceed near NT $50 million, the amount of paper publish at SCI reaches 345, patent of research and invention reaches 78.

In 2011, the Mold & Die technology R&D center created two R&D center, which are Metal Product R&D Center (MPRDC) and Forging technology R&D center (FTDC), to strengthen the research, technology transfer, and industry-academy cooperation services in the metal forming field.

In this year (2018), we integrated three R&D centers to establish Frontier Mould & Die Research and Development Center.
